Thursday October 14th, 2010

Finally the $140.- has reached. The rates have been yo-yo-ing the past week. Every time the rates were approaching the $140.- near, the rate suddenly drops. I have seen $139.94 as highest a few days ago.   Although there is a thread of a currency war, the Japanese yen seem still stable on around 11300/11400 lately (all per €100.-).Since I have a 30000 yen watch in mind, I would not mourn if the yen would become less strong now.

Weekend #39, Sunday October 3rd, 2010

The Euro made again some progress compared to the US$ the past days. Also the Euro is slowly gaining on the Yen too. I hope this trend will stay on for a while, because I will be in Japan in December.
I bought a watch (not a G-Shock, not even a Casio!)
Price: £14,99 GBP
Rate: 1 EUR = 0.843082 GBP
Price I paid: €17,78

There is only one problem: The Paypal website crashed during the payment. A red text told me to try again later, so I did. When I finished the payment for the second time, it appeared I paid twice £14,99 for the watch. The seller claims only to have received one payment. Paypal told me to ask the money back from the seller, I think I am sent around in circles. Might be continued.

I bought a $90.- watch (including shipping):
1 EUR = 1.34208 USD
I paid €67,06

September 15, 2010

There has not been some disturbing changes over the week. The weekend rate was a bit low, Monday it went up. I saw the Euro pop over the US$1.30 today

Here are the rates of this weekend:

Today I saw these rates:

At the end of September a very special watch will be released in Japan. Also I want a Japanese magazine. I saw the new shirts of KIKS TYO. I hope that the Euro/Yen rate will get a bit more favorable for me. In July I ordered a T-Shirt in Japan and I was a little bit shocked that the price (including shipping) was €70.-. I have to admit that the shop gave me a very nice very  limited edition T-Shirt present, making the total price worth it.

Weekend #35, 2010 (Sunday Spetember 5th).

Well, I did not update much lately. After week 31 the Euro/Dolar rate fell a bit down to around €1.- = $1.28. It still is around that level. Nothing exciting I guess.

I bought a G-Shock for my son Bram on August 11. The price was AU$87.-. Rate of that date was: €1.- = AU$1.4054. The watch (a DW-6900CB-2DR)costed me €61,90. A very good price.

I bought another headphone on August 28. Total price with shipping was £51,98. Rate on August 28 2010 was: € 1.-  =  £ 0.799200 GBP. I paid € 65.04 for my new headphone.
