A new crisis is at hand, according to the news. You might expect wild changes at the currence rates. Well, tha past month nothing really exiting happens.

I think nothing much shocking has happened.
No real exciting purchases. I was on holidays ;-)

Tuesday July 12th, 2011

Long time no need to post. The Euro/Dollar rate was just oscillating around 1.43 for a long time. There seem to be questions about the financial status of Italy. Enough to let the Euro/Dollar drop under 1.40.

I got myself an iPhone 4. It gives bigger screenshots :-)

A lot recent transactions:

Monday May 9th, 2011

Well, we  had a high Euro for a while, but things have changed. While there are good prospects in the US and not that good in Europe make the Euro loose fast on the US$ and a bit on the Japanese ¥ too. Luckily I have bought a quite expensive G-Shock last week, with the good rate.
The G-Shock I mentioned above is was bought on May 4th. Not the most ideal time to buy, because it was located in japan and it was Golden Week last week (a whole week of public holidays).

Price of the watch: US$259,99
Currency rate by Paypal: €1  = US$1,44527 (probably the highest in the past time)
Transaction from my bank: €179,89

Let's hope the Euro does not drop to drastically and rather crawl up again (for me).

Thursday, April 21st, 2011

At the biginning of the week, I saw the dollar rise a bit compared with the Euro, but toady I saw the dollar fall pretty fast from $1.43 to over $1.46. Will this fall continue?

I bought a very nice watch today in the US.

Price including shipping: $189.-
Rate: €1.- = $1,42464
Paid: €.

I now hope the customs are a bit nice to me, as they usually add another €40.- for these kind of purchases (  €25.- tax and €17 for handing it over to the customs).

Saturday April 9, 2011

I checked my currency app and saw the Euro was above the $1,44. I saw this article on my news app. The high rate is the result of higher intrest rates in Europe and some unsure financial problems in the US.

Friday March 18th, 2011.

The Earthquake and following Tsunami disaster seems not to have affected the Japanese Yen. It is still holding strong. Today I saw the Euro rise above $1.41. I haven´t seen the Euro that high for a while. It's a good moment to buy in US Dollars now.

The Euro is still remarkably recovering. It might be good for me as I have put my eye to a new G-Shock.

Wednesday, January 19, 2011

I didn't notice the Euro was recovering this fast, until I read this newsflash on my iPhone. I missed the part that the Euro passed the $1,35 level, but this is a good rate too.
Not much buying lately. My bicycle broke down totally, so I have to buy a new bike. I found a nice new bike for €925.-. I could have bought 10 G-Shocks for that price.

While in Japan, I bid on an auction of a special G-Shock for a friend of me in Kyoto. Also I had to pay postage for some things I could not take with me in my suitcase anymore (including a Boks-kun). Total price for everything was 13050 yen.  I was charged €121.09 with a rate: 1 Euro = 107,778 Japanese Yen.
"Boks-kun"

Friday, January 7th, 2011

I don't know what happened this morning, but suddenly the Euro is worth less than $1.30. Ay ay...

Thursday, January 6, 2011

Thursday, January 6th 2011

It could be better. The Euro is slowly giving terrain to the US Dollar. The Yen is still very stable, usually just under 11000 yen for €100.-, now just above.

I bought too many things in Japan in the past three weeks. I can't remember. Yesterday my bank calculated €8.- for currency exchange... If I visit Japan again in the Future, I should use my credit card more often...
